Having lived in Boulder her entire life and doing hair for the past twenty years, Crystel has seen the evolution in styles, hair care, products, etc.. Because of this constant change she makes sure to keep up with the newest trends by attending ongoing educational classes. This training has taken Crystel to New York, L.A., Chicago, Las Vegas, D.C., New Orleans, and Paris. She has styled hair for fashion shows and plays. When doing a consultation with a new client, Crystel initially views the person as a blank canvas. But the canvas doesn’t stay blank for long! She listens to their likes, dislikes, and any issues they may be having with their hair. Hair color, texture, skin tone and facial shape are all taken into account. Crystel also enjoys talking with clients about their lifestyle, hair care, and how much time they spend on their hair. All of these factors are incorporated into creating an individual style. As someone who gives back to the community, she donates her services to Our Center, The Women’s Shelter, shelter for the homeless, schools, and other organizations. Hiking with her dog, snowboarding, camping and travel are among Crystel’s many interests.
